Terms and Conditions
It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to make all users aware of the terms and conditions and follow the safe sauna use guidelines.
Any Users under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times whilst using the Sauna. This must be confirmed on the booking section on the website. Any users under the age of 16 are not to operate the Wood Burning Stove in any way. This includes pouring water over the stones.
Users of the sauna do so at their own risk. The sauna is heated by a wood burning sauna stove, therefore users should pay due care and attention when operating/adding wood to the stove and understand there is a risk of injury. Please use the equipment provided when placing wood into the stove or pouring water over the stones. A First Aid Kit and fire extinguisher is located to the left of the entrance to the sauna if required.
Users of the sauna confirm that they are in good health and they do not take any medications or have any conditions that may contradict their use of the sauna i.e. heart conditions, high/low blood pressure, pregnancy. You must consult a medical professional before use if you have any doubts/concerns.
Any users that want to swim in the sea (hot/cold therapy) are welcome to do so. Please note this is at your own risk. It is your responsibility to consult with a medical professional if you have any doubts or medical conditions/concerns before doing so.
There are no lockable facilities for valuables/belongings. Any users bringing personal items/valuables do so at their own risk. Sauna Wanna accepts no liability for missing, lost or stolen possessions. Also it is recommended that you do not wear any clothing containing metal and remove any items of jewelry prior to use.
Alcohol, Smoking or Food is not permitted in the Sauna. It is recommended that you abstain from taking any alcohol prior to using the sauna as this can potentially lower blood pressure and cause dehydration leading to dizziness, fainting and potentially blackouts. Sauna Wanna reserves the right to refuse admission to any person / parties deemed to be intoxicated due to the health and safety risk. We also reserve the right to terminate a session early if any users are found to be in breach of this term. No refunds will be offered to any persons/parties found to be in breach of this condition.
Safe Sauna Use Guidelines
- Spend a maximum of 15 minutes in the Sauna at any one time. Please use the sand timer provided. If you start to feel unwell/uncomfortable please leave the Sauna immediately. Take care and move slowly when entering and exiting the sauna.
- Pouring Water on the Stones - A wooden bucket holding water and a ladle is provided. Apply water to the stones using the ladle at arm's length. This should be done sparingly to ensure the temperature does not increase too high and make the sauna uncomfortable. If the sauna becomes too hot, we recommend opening the door briefly until it becomes comfortable again.
- Adding wood to the Stove - do so with care. Using the door handle lightly lift up the door and gently and slowly open the door. Place one log in and gently close the door again lifting slightly to close. The door handle should not get hot but the glass door and stove does. We have provided heat resistant gloves for your safety to wear when opening the door and placing logs in the stove. Do not touch any other part of the stove or the stones on top as they are extremely hot and can cause harm.
- Take care and move slowly when entering and exiting the sauna. Due to high humidity surfaces can become slippery, especially if dipping in the sea in-between sessions.
- Keep the entrance clear of any obstructions. There are hangers on the side of the sauna for clothing/towels.
- Respect other users. Please finish your session on time to allow us to prepare for the next users.
- Rehydrate well by drinking plenty of cool water after your sauna session.
- There are no changing facilities so please come prepared. Please also bring any towels etc.
- Avoid using creams or lotions prior to using the sauna as these can clog pores and reduce the effects of the sauna.
- Take some time to cool down after your sauna. We would recommend at least 10 minutes.
Most important rule of all - ENJOY!!!

Disposal of Hot Ash Procedure
The following policy will apply to any person(s) in charge of the Sauna operation. Inclusive of Employees and Company Owners:
- Hot and cooling ashes can be a fire and carbon monoxide hazard. Sufficient time must elapse after a sauna session to let the ash cool. During this time the door to the stove must remain closed.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment will be supplied and must be used. This will consist of protective gloves, a metal shovel to collect the ash, eye protection and a dust mask.
- Ash will be collected in a metal ash bin with a lid that can be sealed to avoid any escape of ash..
- At the end of each day cooled ash will be transported home to be composted. This is the safest and most environmentally friendly way to recycle wood ash.
